Sunday Funday at the Aster!

Patty and The Buttons are no longer at the Aster Every Sunday. Should that be a cause for alarm? I would say not; We will still be appearing at the Aster every FIRST SUNDAY of the month which shall here on be known as “SUNDAY FUNDAY” … As for the other 3 Sundays of the month, you can hear clarinetist Tony Balluff leading core Buttons band members with rotating special guests as the “Southside Aces Big Four.” This will allow you to more effectively absorb the large diversity of traditional jazz artists in our fair city and keep your feet moving too!

For those who might still be concerned, there is no intention of discontinuing Sunday traditional jazz programming EVERY Sunday from 11am-2pm! We are forever thankful for Jeff and the Aster team for providing us with a great home for all of these years. Please continue to come and support the music as often as able! The Aster will continue to be home to the finest purveyors of the great American art.

So why the change? After 15 years of leading Brunch bands, I (Patty) would like to free up time and energy for other pursuits on select Sunday mornings. Patty and The Buttons will absolutely continue on, and as a matter of fact, if you’ve got somewhere cool for us to play, we’re in!!
